Dear Colleagues,
We’re pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2017 Altmetric research grant! First launched in 2016 and awarded annually, the grant provides up to £1,500 ($1,900 USD) to fund research that facilitates the development and understanding of alternative research metrics (altmetrics) as part of the wider scholarly agenda.
The grant aims to support projects that would not otherwise receive the necessary funding, and is open globally to academics, researchers and librarians interested in doing research in the altmetrics space.
In 2016 the grant funded a project conducted by Dr Lauren Cadwallader at the University of Cambridge which explored the impact of published research on public policy. A full write up on Lauren’s project and what she found is available here: https://www.altmetric.com/blog/policy-attention-patterns-grant-report/
Applications for the 2017 grant are open now until 11pm GMT on Friday 21st of April 2017. Full details of how to apply are available online, and all submissions will be reviewed by an expert committee.
Find out more at: https://www.altmetric.com/research-grant/
We look forward to receiving applications! Please feel free to forward this message on to any colleagues or faculty who might be interested to apply.
Kind regards,
Catherine Williams
Altmetric
