Dear Colleague,

We, at the Healthy Working Lives Group in collaboration with the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM) and Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM), are conducting a study to identify current opinions of UK occupational physicians (OPs) and occupational health researchers (OHRs) about your present priorities with regard to research.

We understand that this is a wide topic and, at first glance, may not seem relevant to all your areas of work. We are seeking your priorities in terms of importance. This could either be importance for your own practice, it could be for wider knowledge or even both.

We conducted the first round of the study where we asked participants to RATE principle domain research topics and their subsections. For those who completed questionnaires in that round, we would like to thank you very much for your participation.

In this second and final round of the study all OPs and OHRs are welcome to participate, irrespective of whether you took part in round one or not.

We are asking you on this occasion to RANK the research topics in order of importance.

We would be most grateful therefore, if you could complete the survey below which will take approximately 15 minutes.

By achieving consensus on current research priorities, it will inform the future direction of national OH research strategy, support and encourage research that addresses important knowledge gaps within the specialty and facilitate maximum gain for all key stakeholders.

You may receive this questionnaire several times - please only complete once.

If you have any questions about this research please contact either:

Professor Ewan B Macdonald – email: [log in to unmask] Tel: 0141 330 3559.
or
Dr Drushca Lalloo - email: [log in to unmask] Tel: 0141 330 3559

We thank you very much in advance for your assistance with this important piece of work.
