Hello,
I am a beginner to fMRI data analysis and FSL, and require some assistance. I would like to conduct an ROI between-subjects analysis (hypothetical).
The Task:
Block-design, with two conditions (chaotic images, peaceful images). I am looking to see if the right Amygdala shows an increased response to chaotic images in depressed individuals compared to non-depressed individuals.
My contrast would be chaotic images > peaceful images. I would conduct first level analyses (pre-processing etc) for each subject. However, what would I do after this?
Ideally, I would perform a group level analysis for depressed individuals (averaging all the depressed individuals data), and a separate group level analysis for non-depressed individuals, and then compare the two groups?
I would also create an ROI mask based on the right amygdala MNI coordinates.
Is this a practical way to conduct the experiment? I am also unsure of the finer details (what tests to run, how do I apply the mask to the data, etc.
Apologies if this doesn't make much sense, I'm in the beginning stages of learning.
Thank You.
