We are a vibrant practice focused on innovation, collaboration and making, constantly questioning the boundaries of what is possible. Today a team of over 200, we are involved in a number of significant and extraordinary projects across the world.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Digital Collections Manager to join the Archive and Communications team to create and lead the development of a new Digital Archive to preserve our most significant digital content long into the future, whilst offering an invaluable source of inspiration and insight into our design work & methodologies for our current project teams and for the purposes of business development.
The range of content being collated for the Digital Archive will include PDFs, PowerPoint presentations and image, audio and video files, as well as legacy versions of 3D design and modelling files generated by programmes such as AutoCAD and Rhino.
The role reports to the studio’s Archivist and will be responsible for managing the collation and ongoing care of our most precious digital content, which will offer a rich and meaningful insight into the studio’s design output as part of our long-term legacy and ongoing design work. Key responsibilities include:
• Create, develop and implement strategies, systems and processes relating to the curation and management of a new digital archive
• Work closely with the Archivist and Digital Systems team to develop a digital archive repository that supports key metadata capture, adherence to ISAD(G) standards, long-term preservation of files, and studio-wide accessibility
• Appraise live digital content with project and communication teams to select and transfer key files to the digital archive repository
• Retrieve, research and curate historic digital content from multiple locations and organise into the studio’s live filing structure and digital archive repository
• Develop strategies to facilitate the linking of content between the digital and physical archives, working towards the creation of an interlinked hybrid archive
• Assist studio members with locating files from the digital archive for the purposes of research and knowledge sharing
• Promote and facilitate project team engagement with the digital archive
The role requires a systematic yet dynamic individual to lead an inspirational approach to developing a bespoke digital archive repository within a non-traditional archive setting.
