Dear All,
Cidral second public lecture will take place on 14th February, 16-18pm (John Casken Lecture Theatre, Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama, The University of Manchester.)
Freddie Rokem (Professor in the Department of Theatre, Tel Aviv University) will deliver a public lecture entitled 'Before the Stage: Staging Kafka's Words'.
He will be joined by Walter Meierjohann and Kathryn Hunter, the director and actor behind the successful play 'Kafka’s Monkey', which was performed at HOME last year.
Kathryn Hunter will read a short piece by Kafka 'Before the Law' at the start of the event, Professor Rokem will deliver his lecture and we will finish with a conversation about Kafka and theatre (in theory and practice) with Walter Meierjohann and Kathryn Hunter.
I am sure many of you had the chance of seeing the brilliantly staged and performed play 'Kafka's Monkey' last year at Home. But here is a trailer from the play at the Old Vic.
