Dear all,
My name is Anne-Sophie Gutsche and I am a student of information sciences in Germany about to start working on my master thesis, which is also the reason behind me addressing you all today.
I am not sure if my request is well fitted here, but I hope it does not hurt to ask.
My thesis will focus on possible criteria for information and cultural institutions (museums, libraries, archives) to collect YouTube Vlogs as a documentation of everday life and contemporary culture. Clearly, I still have to shape the exact focus of the work. The matter is kind of uncharted territory - or at least, so far, my literature review has lead me to believe that there are only a few museums in Australia that collect content published on Youtube.
My question is: Do you know of museums, libraries, archives or other information or cultural institutions that specifically collect content from Youtube?
Please feel also free to refer me to other practices of contemporary collecting, website archiving or app archiving, though I will approach the topic more from the humanities’ standpoint than a technical view.
Thank you in advance for your help and support!
Kind regards,
Anne
