Hi Michael
My sense is also that previous PE work around quantum technologies (with one or two notable exceptions, Hannah :-)) has tended to be small-scale, one-off and at an early stage.
But I suspect this may be about to change, especially given the emphasis funders in the UK and USA are placing on the potential of these technologies.
Given its strong hooks of inherent weirdness and surprising relevance, it's a relatively popular topic for public talks, communication competitions and popular articles by individual researchers though. If you're interested, I can send you a list of links to some of these.
One of the most effective ways of explaining the counter-intuitive, reality-stranger-than-fiction concepts behind quantum technologies is by demonstrating them through analogies with magic tricks.
I'm not sure if you were only interested in UK examples, but this topic came up on the ASTC (science centre) mailing list recently. Karine Thate from the Strategic Projects group at the Museum of Science, Boston is trying to put together an informal network of PE/ informal science education people who are interested in quantum-related engagement. I can send you her details if you're interested in finding out more, Michael.
And finally, if you want to see a charismatic political leader from across the pond have a go at explaining quantum computing (no... not that one. If only.):

Funny, and yet sad that it should be so remarkable.
All the best
