I thought the only legitimate way to sync to Azure was now AADConnect? The FIM/MIM MA was dead?

Subject: WAAD setup issues
Afternoon all,
I'm playing with WAAD (Windows Azure Active Directory) plugin for MIM.
It's working a bit but I get a bajillion (ok, 1,318) errors on Full Import (about 1.2% of total).
They all seem to be for "Device_$GUID" and are either missing-anchor-component or staging-errors.
A few issues:
1) I didn't know I had that many Devices on my AAD - we only manage Users at the moment
2) I don't know what the correct attribute to use as an Anchor - any ideas?
3) I can't find a way to find these objects via powershell (get-msoldevice isn't available to me)
Any hints?
Ta,
