Hi Catherine and Marta,
For our journal data archive we suggest the convention "[title of the corresponding paper] (replication data)" for data supporting publications. An example: doi:10.15456/jbnst.2015328.160847

Hi Catherine,
A great question! I'd be curious to know what others say as well.
In Cambridge we're trying to name our datasets using the following convention for data supporting publications:
Research data supporting "[Title of the corresponding paper]"

Subject: Naming convention for dataset titles
Dear All,
Apologies if this topic has already been discussed (I couldn't find anything with a quick search) but I am interested to know if anyone has implemented a basic (ha ha) naming convention for titles of datasets deposited in a data repository?
I'm prompted to ask because I have recently had a deposit where the author has called the dataset the same as the paper title and this, to my mind, is confusing but I'm not sure what to suggest as an alternative!
I have seen all manner of titles elsewhere like data for + paper title, data supporting the conference paper..., paper title + dataset(s), data underpinning article:....
Any thoughts, advice would be very welcome!
Many thanks
Catharine Bailey
