UPCOMING EVENT: Launching the Centre for Gender and Global Health at UCL
The UCL Institute for Global Health to let you know that we are launching a new Centre for Gender and Global Health (ighgc.org) and are holding a launch day on 16th February 2017, funded by the ESRC. It will be a day of panel discussions and keynote speeches to celebrate the launch of the Centre and bring together those interested in Gender and Global Health.
The day itself will involve keynote speeches from:
- Rachel Jewkes (Director of the Medical Research Council Gender & Health Research Unit, South Africa)
- Benno de Keizjer (Professor of Anthropology, University of Veracruz, Mexico)
- Sabina Alkire (Director of the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative, UK)
- Maureen Fordham (Professor of Gender and Disaster Resilience and Visiting Professor, UCL Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction)
This will be followed by four panel discussions on Gender Based Violence and Health, Masculinities and Health, Institutional Responses to Gender and Health, and Gender and Disaster and the day will end with a drinks reception.
