Hi,
Thanks to everyone who send me some help!
In the end it was something that had nothing to do with the database or
dpm itself.
To be sure that as long as I test the new server and make sure everything
is copied over and working correctly, I don't wanted to have any traffic
from the outside to the servers, especially not storing new files in case
we have to go back to the old installation for now. To do so, I disabled
any incoming traffic to the dpm headnode (which is also the db node)
using iptables except from my desktop. That however broke the
communication with the db it seems. Interestingly, and also switching to
localhost in the files under /usr/etc didn't help for that.
When I allow also incoming connections from the host itself, now all seems
to be back working and I can download files using xrdcp on my desktop.
Thanks everyone and have a good weekend!
