If I've read the email correctly, the DB is on the same host as the
SE. I have the same arrangement and my /usr/etc/DPMCONFIG has
dpmmgr/<password>@localhost/dpm_db
/usr/etc/NSCONFIG is similar, but with cns_db. Last April, when I made
the same move from SL5 to SL6, the recommendation in the puppet
configuration documentation was to use "localhost" rather than the
actual host name. Presumably this avoids you having to have a firewall
hole when accessing mysqld locally?
Incidentally, I have no DPMINFO file (DPM 1.8.11).
