Friday, 10 February 2017
European Commission, Charlemagne Building,
Rue de la Loi 170, 1000 Brussels
We are delighted to invite you to the next Odysseus Annual Conference, “Beyond ‘Crisis'? The State of Immigration and Asylum Law and Policy in the EU”, to be held in Brussels on Friday, 10 February 2017, at the European Commission. Bringing together legal experts, policy makers from EU institutions and Agencies, Member States, international organisations and NGOs, this event is an opportunity to critically assess the developments in the field in 2016 and to cast a look as to possible trends in 2017. It also presents a useful opportunity to network with over 600 people attending who are interested in asylum and migration law and policy.
Recently confirmed speakers include:
Neven Mimica, Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development
Cecilia Wikström, Member of the European Parliament, Rapporteur for Dublin
Simon Mordue, Deputy Director-General, DG Home Affairs, European Commission
In order to provide food for thought before the conference, the Odysseus Network will publish a special series of posts related to the topics discussed in the different workshop on its blog ‘EU Immigration and Asylum Law and Policy': http://eumigrationlawblog.eu/ . The first article of the series is written by Prof de Bruycker and introduces the agenda of the conference.
The organisers invite all persons interested to attend the conference and to visit our webpage: http://odysseus-network.eu/2017-conference/ . A PDF version of the full programme can be downloaded from the website. Simultaneous translation between French, Dutch and English will be provided.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required. For further information and in case of questions, please contact: [log in to unmask]
