Opportunity to contribute a chapter to an edited collection – ‘Robinson Crusoe in the 21st Century’
We are seeking an additional contributor or two to an edited collection focussing on contemporary and especially postcolonial re-readings of the now-mythic political and economic figure of Robinson Crusoe. We would specifically like to hear from you if you are working on this with reference to the character Friday, and could bring to bear contemporary perspectives from Black Studies or critical race theory. The collection draws on primarily Marxian frameworks but if you are drawing on other traditions that could work too. Work that engages with either / both J M Coetzee’s ‘Foe’ and Michel Tournier’s ‘Vendredi, ou les limbes du Pacifique / Friday, or the other Island’ would be especially welcome. We have a publisher for this project and plan to launch the book this year.
Please do get in touch asap for more details and to discuss your potential contribution – [log in to unmask]
