We are recruiting an Archive Assistant (Cataloguer) to work on the Women’s Playhouse Trust Archive at University of Bristol Theatre Collection on a flexible working hours basis during 2017
The post is on a fixed term contract for a total of 1,000 hours work (with a flexible work pattern) to be undertaken between 1 April 2017 until 24 December 2017 to work on the Women’s Playhouse Trust Archive. The post is funded by a grant from the Women’s Playhouse Trust and may be undertaken on either a full or part time basis.
The role holder will undertake file level cataloguing of the Women’s Playhouse Trust Archive, which will have been pre-sorted. They will also oversee the repackaging process which will be carried out by volunteers and take place alongside the cataloguing. They will also write a report at the end of the project, a Collections Page for the Theatre Collection website and post updates via the Theatre Collection facebook page.
The successful candidates will be qualified to at least A-level standard, although a degree or equivalent would be desirable. They must have a basic understanding/knowledge of archival standards and practice plus previous experience within an archival or museum environment. Knowledge of/previous use of CALM or other Collections Management Systems is desirable.
