Dear all
We are having some issues for the ions on our gas machine
One gas sample was measured 3 times (0, +3min, +15min) due to the inability to get carboximetry results:
Potassium changed: 5.91, 8.32 , 13.97
Ionised calcium: 1.22, 1.13, 1.04
sodium not measurable chloride not measurable
I thought that this might be due to over-chilling of the sample but samples not on ice.....
A second sample was repeated after 3 minutes because pO2 didn't give a result:
K 5.10 to 5.76
ionised calcium 1.20, 1.21
Sodium changed 134.7 to 146.3
chloride 105 to 113
So several issues: failure to measure combined with rapid change in results
Can anyone point us in the right direction?
