De Montfort University is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for its LLMs in International Human Rights Law and International Law. This could be one External for each LLM or one External who can cover both.
This is a distance learning programme and is designed to accommodate the individual needs and interest of students who come from legal and non legal backgrounds. Module assessment is entirely by completion of assignments, after which students complete a dissertation on a topic of their choosing, but linked to their chosen LLM pathway.
Modules include:
International Law
International Human Rights
International Child Law
The European Convention on Human Rights
International Humanitarian Law
Gender & Sexuality in International Law
Protection of Refugees in International Law
Private International Law
Law of International Trade
Appointees will be required to approve one or two assignments per module, moderate a sample of scripts relating to each module and report on these to the Module Leader. Regular attendance at Assessment Boards, which take place twice a year, and the provision of an annual report to the University would also be expected.
The position will commence in July 2017 and will be for a period of four years.
