Gallery Records Manager
Tate
Assistant Curator, Gallery Records (Library & Archive)
Contract: Fixed Term, 27 February 2017 – 13 June 2017.
Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 36 hours per week.
Location: Tate Britain
A unique opportunity has arisen to work in Tate’s Library & Archive Department, working closely with Tate’s Records Manager. The post involves cataloguing paper records of the activities from across its four galleries which have been transferred for long term retention.
As a member of the cataloguing team you will play a key role in ensuring historical public records can be accessed by researchers from across the world. Recently this has included Tate’s records being used in a documentary about Carl Andre’s ‘Bricks’ which was screened on BBC Four.
You will already have experience of cataloguing in a library/records/archive environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and you will have the ability to establish good working relationships with people. You will be keen to pursue a career in information and records management. An interest in history and/ or the history of art is desirable but not essential.
