Call for Abstracts – hEART 2017: 6th Symposium of the European Association for Research in Transportation
September 12-14 2017, Haifa
Hosted by: Technion – Israel Institute of Technology
Web page: http://heart2017.net.technion.ac.il <http://heart2017.net.technion.ac.il/>
Timeline:
March 15th - Last date for abstract submission
June 15th - Notification of acceptance of abstracts
October 1st - Full paper submission (only for the submission to the special issue)
September 11th - Summer school
September 12th-14th - Conference
The symposium is an interdisciplinary research conference, covering all areas of transportation research, with a focus on quantitative methods and analysis of transport systems. The aim is to connect research in transport modelling, transport economics and transport policy with advanced practice. Bringing together leading experts and promising young researchers, the symposium offers an opportunity for scientific discussion and interaction in relatively small groups. There will be a summer school intended for PhD students the day before the conference (Sept 11th). The summer school will cover a range of topics in traffic flow, transport modelling, economics and policy, giving introductions to and overviews of the state of the art. Teachers will consist of leading researchers in the respective fields.
The symposium is an annual event, organized by the European Association of Research in Transportation (hEART; www.heart-web.org) <http://www.heart-web.org)>. Previous locations of hEART symposiums include Lausanne (EPFL, 2012), Stockholm (KTH, 2013), Leeds (University of Leeds, 2014), Copenhagen (DTU, 2015), Delft (TU Delft, 2016).
Keynote speakers (in alphabetical order):
Moshe Ben-Akiva (Massachusetts Institute of Technology),
Petros A. Ioannou (University of Southern California),
Grazia Speranza (University of Brescia).
The scope of the symposium includes all aspects of transport systems analysis, including:
Transport demand modelling
Travel behaviour analysis
Transport economics
Land use and transport interactions
Network analysis and modelling
Operations research
Traffic flow theory
Traffic engineering and operations
Transport policy analysis
Transport and regional economics
Appraisal methodology
Public transport
Valuation of non-market goods
