ASCOT Training Courses in 2017
The Adult Social Care Outcomes Toolkit (ASCOT) is a set of instruments designed to measure an individual's social care related quality of life (SCRQoL). ASCOT is used in the UK to measure SCRQoL in the Adult Social Care Survey. It forms SCRQoL indicators in the Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework, which monitors social care provision at the national level.
The ASCOT team are holding two training courses for those interested in the toolkit. The ‘Introduction to ASCOT’ course will be held at the London School of Economics and Political Science on 9th February and 14th June 2017. It is a 1-day course designed for people who wish to learn more about ASCOT and it covers topics such as measuring outcomes using ASCOT, different versions of the toolkit, and how it could be used in research and practice.
The ‘Using the Mixed Methods of Care Home Version of ASCOT (CH3)’ is a 2-day course is for the individuals who wish to measure SCRQoL using ASCOT in residential care settings. The instrument uses a mixed methods approach which includes interviews and an observational schedule. The course will take place at PSSRU, University of Kent, Canterbury on 11-12th January and 10 -11th May 2017.
