The Commission annually awards a £200 prize, sponsored by the publishers Boydell & Brewer, for the best doctoral thesis in maritime history. Subjects eligible for consideration reflect the Commission's view of maritime history as a wide-ranging discipline.
Attached are details of the 2017 prize. The closing date for nominations is 1 January 2017 Those who have been awarded their doctorate in the 2015-16 session are eligible.
I am contacting you in my role as Chair of the judging panel for this £200 annual prize and would be very grateful if you could alert those in your Department, School or Institute who would be eligible.
