An exciting opportunity has arisen for up to two researchers to join Cardiff University’s Advanced Sustainable Manufacturing Technologies 2020 (ASTUTE 2020) project team as Research Associates (Project Officers) in the area of Supply Chain Systems. We would be very grateful indeed if you would forward this email to any suitable research staff or students who you think may be interested in these exciting opportunities, specifically those who have skills and knowledge in areas such as production and inventory control, supply chain forecasting, supply chain modelling, supply chain resilience, manufacturing process improvement, operational excellence, lean and agile systems and/or manufacturing analytics.
ASTUTE 2020 is a ca. £15m consortium of four Welsh Universities (Swansea, Cardiff, Aberystwyth & University of Wales Trinity St David) and has been part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government and the participating Higher Education Institutions. The successful applicant(s) will work with leading academic experts in close collaboration with industry, to develop impactful, state-of-the-art research-based solutions to enhancing the resilience of advanced manufacturing businesses and their supply chains throughout West Wales and the Welsh Valleys.
While candidates will be formally contracted through the School of Engineering, as lead School for Cardiff University’s elements of ASTUTE 2020, it is anticipated that the successful applicant(s) will be based within the Logistics and Operations Management (LOM) Section of Cardiff Business School.
The post is full time and available immediately for a fixed term until 30th June 2018, with the potential for subsequent extension.
Salary: £32,004 - £38,183 per annum (Grade 6)
