End of year thought: Despite the decades of digital technology based projects, studies and initiatives around/with/in cultural heritage (sites, museums, objects, buildings) resulting in digital heritage data and interpretation, there has been limited communication of their evaluation. Aside from conference papers, commercial confidentiality has often been a major barrier in the widespread sharing organisational and individual evaluation of such projects.
What are people’s thoughts about a Digital Heritage Evaluation Initiative- where the evaluation of projects is made publically available? This would not only allow for the showcasing of successes, but also failures, allowing lessons to be learnt and creating a record of the exciting change and opportunities that our sector has and is witnessing.
Feel free to ignore if this is happening already- just a thought that has been bugging me!
Have a good Christmas
Cheers
