Fully Funded Doctoral Studentships – Creative Multilingualism
Three fully-funded D.Phil. (Oxford’s Ph.D.) scholarships, tenable from 1st October 2017, are available at the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, University of Oxford, in conjunction with the AHRC-funded Creative Multilingualism programme.
The studentships are for three years and are open to students of any nationality. Each studentship will cover University and College fees with a stipend equivalent to the Research Councils UK national minimum stipend (£14,057 in 2015). Closing date for applications is Friday 20th January 2017.
The Creative Multilingualism programme conducts research on the nexus between multilingualism and creativity, in seven interlocking strands. The programme is designed to generate deeper understanding of the ways in which multilingualism and creativity interact, and to have a transformational impact on the role and perception of linguistic diversity and language learning in society and particularly in schools.
We are especially interested in receiving applications from candidates proposing to work in the context of strands 1 (Metaphor), 4 (Languages in the Creative Economy: Russian theatre or Russian opera) and 5 (World Literatures), but will consider applications that take forward the research of the programme in other ways.
