Dear BARS member,
I write as Treasurer and Membership Secretary to thank you for your continued support of BARS during this last year and to remind you that your membership is due for renewal on 1 January for 2017. BARS membership runs from 1 January to 31 December each year, regardless of the month of joining BARS. The annual subscription is £25 (waged) or £10 (unwaged and/or postgraduate).
Renewal of your membership will ensure the continuation of your subscription to the BARS Electronic Mailbase. You will also be eligible to apply for:
• BARS funding in the form of post-graduate travel-grants
• the Copley bursaries for post-graduate research
• the BARS First Book prize
• the Chawton Fellowship.
Your BARS dues support a range of resources and activities:
• the open-access publication of The BARS Review
• the ongoing development of our excellent website which now features interviews with Romanticists
• seminars and day-conferences across the UK and beyond
• BARS' continuing work connecting Romanticists in Britain, Europe, the United States, Australasia and the wider world. As a BARS member, you are invited to BARS International Conferences and EC & PG events.
Membership makes you automatically eligible to participate in the next biennial conference at York university in July 2017: the theme is ‘Romanticism and improvement’.
Below is a link to the 'BARS How to Join' page, which gives full instruction on methods of payment.
