Hi all,
The National Archives is collaborating with archive professionals, key stakeholders and strategic partners from the cultural, creative and digital sectors to:
· develop a strong strategic vision to support the case for archives as a vital part of the nation’s heritage;
· explore and build on the themes of digital transformation; innovation and financial resilience; people and education; and sector leadership; and
· produce a future vision on archives to secure the best possible long-term future for archive collections and services.
Here is a link to the draft for those of you who haven't seen it:<http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documents/archives/consultation-strategic-vision-for-archives.pdf>
strategic vision for the archives sector<http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documents/archives/consultation-strategic-vision-for-archives.pdf> (PDF, 0.27 MB).
For the past three days we worked with partners from across many sectors to look at the draft document and shape the identity, messages, objectives and themes of the new vision. It was obvious throughout the sessions that it is not only people who work in the sector that appreciate the immense value archives bring to individuals, communities and society. We have already engaged with over 300 people and many of you have kindly contributed to shaping the vision so many thanks for all your time and efforts. What we need now is to test the draft document and make sure that we captured what you have said to us over the summer. We are running a survey until the 23rd of December and it won't take more than 15 minutes to complete but will bring great benefits for endorsing our vision for the sector. Here is a link to the survey:

If you can spare some time could you please help us?
Many thanks.
