Dear colleagues,
Over the past years, Allegralaboratory.net has featured thematic threads curated by anthropologists specializing in various fields of studies. Have a look at our most recent threads on:
- Evidence edited by Agathe Mora
- Remoteness edited by Ruben Andersson
- Loss and displacement edited by Fiona Murphy and Evi Chatzipanagiotidou
- Ethnographic slam edited by Robert Desjarlais and Eileen Moyer.
This week, we continue a conversation on academic precarity initiated in the last issue of HAU: Journal of Ethnographic Theory. We are very honored to have Vita Peacock as a guest editor and we are delighted to share with you the thread she edited on ‘ethnographies of Academia’. The thread is running all week long but you can already get a foretaste by reading Vita’s introduction, slow food for thought prepared with tender care in Allie’s kitchen!
We also want to draw you attention to the fact that Allegralaboratory.net is YOUR site. We are therefore constantly looking for new proposals. Feel welcome to submit ideas for thematic weeks or single posts. Let us know about the events you organise so that we can advertise them. And we still have plenty of room in our virtual museum, so come and exhibit your artefacts at AVMoFA! Unless you prefer sharing a fieldwork playlist or soundtrack…all formats and genres are welcome!
We want to hear from you!
Warm wishes,
Julie Billaud and Allegra editorial team
