The Laboratory Astrophysics Group of the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the area of astrochemistry. The successful candidate would be responsible for the execution of a project focused on experimental studies of the erosion of carbonaceous dust by ionizing radiation and diamond formation in astrophysical environments.
The position is immediately available and the appointment period is scheduled for one year, but can be renewed based on satisfactory progress. The salary for the position is based on the German federal public service scale (E13 TV-L, see http://oeffentlicher-dienst.info/tv-l/ost) with regular weekly working hours. The position needs to be filled as early as possible, so please let us know your availability as well.
Successful applicants must have a strong background in one or several fields comprising UHV tech-nology, diamond CVD growth, Raman spectroscopy. Programming experience (labview) is beneficial.
