Do you live for digital content? Are you passionate about the online user experience? We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Editor to work with us to redevelop the Birkbeck web presence. This is an important project, ensuring that our website reflects the quality of our course offering by providing a fully updated and optimised web experience for our visitors, providing relevant, well-written content designed to meet our visitor information needs in a responsive environment.
The Digital Editor will sit within the Digital team and will work with the Web Content Manager to produce and curate digital content (text, images and video) across the Birkbeck website, embedding our new visual ID and following our new tone and voice guidelines. This role will work closely with the rest of the Communications Team to deliver a user-centred experience for everyone who needs support, or who is motivated to support us, online.
This post is a key element of our Digital Transformation Project. Passionate about the role of digital communications in engaging audiences, you will be highly organised and an outstanding communicator and negotiator, able to deal with multiple projects and stakeholders with a clear eye on overall goals and priorities.

Salary: Grade 5 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £28,154 rising to £32,042 per annum.
This post is full time, 35 hours per week (1 FTE) and fixed term for 20 months. The salary quoted above is on the College's London Pay Scale and includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the Greater London area. The initial salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment is subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
