With apologies for cross-posting.

Dear list members,

Vitae and CHASE are pleased to invite doctoral researchers and early careers researchers from across the Arts and Humanities to respond to a new online survey investigating their experience of professional development.

Respondents who complete this 10-minute survey before 11 December 2016 will be eligible to enter a free prize draw to win a £50 Amazon.co.uk voucher.

Please circulate widely to colleagues or researchers who might be interested in responding: http://bit.ly/2f24NBn

This survey is part of a CHASE-funded project seeking to develop new resources to engage and support Arts and Humanities doctoral researchers’ professional development.

With over half of Arts and Humanities doctoral graduates working outside of Higher Education, and a quarter of Early Career Researchers undertaking portfolio work, post-PhD careers in the Arts and Humanities increasingly demand careful planning and consideration. Despite valuable insights into the career aspirations and destinations of Arts & Humanities doctoral graduates, little is known about their engagement with professional development and career-planning. By shedding light on the motivations and preferences of doctoral researchers, this project will deliver pathways for increased engagement, and thus contribute to improving Arts and Humanities’ doctoral researchers’ preparation for the post-PhD job market.

If you have any questions or queries, or if you’d like to be kept up to date with the project, please email [log in to unmask]

The project is part of the ongoing 'Focus on planning ahead to manage your career', including new resources and activities on the theme: https://www.vitae.ac.uk/focus-on-current-theme/
