Dear all,

A reminder that a football conference will be staged in Manchester, England in June 2017 and the CFP is open now. Details below:

Your invitation to the International Football History Conference

International Football History Conference
Date: 15th - 16th June 2017
Location: City Football Academy, Manchester City Football Club, Manchester M11 3FF

Organised by International Sport & Leisure History at Manchester Metropolitan University

The inaugural International Football History Conference will take place at the City Football Academy, Manchester City Football Club, Manchester M11 3FF, England and will be held over two days (15 and 16 June 2017).

This is a call for papers to be presented at the inaugural International Football History conference. There will be an opportunity to present on any topic relating to the history of
football. We are particularly keen to include papers focusing on football’s origins, regional histories, gender, race and issues within football (including football of all codes).

Proposals (max 200 word abstract) for twenty-minute papers should be sent to Dr. Gary James via email ([log in to unmask]) by 15 December 2016.

Abstracts are welcomed from researchers from any discipline, so long as they adhere to the themes of the conference.

A special edition of the journal Soccer & Society will be produced with selected articles presented at the conference, and Routledge
Books have donated £200 of books towards a best paper prize.

There will also be the opportunity to present a summary of your research in a Pecha Kucha style (20 slides with maximum of 20 seconds per slide). If you would like to present in this format please state clearly that this will be a Pecha Kucha style presentation in your 200 word proposal and send to Dr. Gary James via email ([log in to unmask]) by 15 December 2016.

Over two days, International Football History will consist of
presentations focusing on the latest research into football’s origins, regional histories, gender, race and issues within football.

Conference organiser: Dr. Gary James ([log in to unmask])
