I may have missed it but since I did not see a reply let me have a stab:
I think there is no perfect way to do this, not least due to the fact
that even an anatomically "correct" solution still assumes that the
structure-function relationship is identical between your two diverse
populations. But in any case, what you could do is to take the adult
reference brain your spatial definitions are based on and warp it
(non-linear only) to an appropriate pediatric reference brain. This warp
could then be applied to the mask representing your activation, bringing
it into a "pediatric" space.
