Hi All,
Please find here details of an exciting sedimentology/stratigraphy-focused PhD opportunity at Imperial College, London:
1. Deep-water reservoir architecture and quality around active salt diapirs (http://www.imperial.ac.uk/media/imperial-college/faculty-of-engineering/earth-science-and-engineering/phd-opportunities/oct-16/Diapirs-and-deep-water-sedimentology.docx)
The student will join a large, dynamic research group (Basins Research Group: http://www.basinsresearchgroup.com/), comprising a multidisciplinary group of Earth Scientists committed to understanding the fundamental geological processes operating in evolving sedimentary basins, and the application of this understanding to determining the nature, origin and occurrence of natural resources. Projects are typically available to UK citizens and to citizens of the EU who have been permanently in residence in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to taking up the studentship. If you are interested in applying for one of these projects, please do not hesitate to contact Chris Jackson ([log in to unmask]). If anyone wishes to discuss this opportunity during this year’s BSRG, please come and find me.
As an early heads-up, we will soon be advertising for and recruiting two, 2.5-year Post-Doctoral Research Associates in the general area of Source-to-Sink (S2S) analysis of tectonically active basins. Again, if you might be interested in these positions, please contact me via email or find me at BSRG.
Please pass this information on to anyone you think might be interested.
Thanks,
Chris
