Dear Colleagues,
We are inviting book chapter proposals for an edited volume on the theme
*‘Implementation of EU policies on social inclusion of disadvantaged
populations in former socialist countries’*
*Call for Chapters*
*Proposals Submission Deadline (Abstracts): December 10th, 2016*
*One page extended abstract due: January 10th, 2017*
*Full Chapters Due: April 31st , 2017 *
Editors: Elena-Loreni Baciu (West University of Timisoara, Romania), Ingrid
Fylling (Nord University, Norway), Janne Paulsen Breimo (Nord University,
Norway)
*Introduction*
Former socialist countries newly adhered to the European Union face
difficulties in adapting to and implementing EU policies on inclusion of
disadvantaged populations i.e. disabled people and Roma individuals. We
invite experts on this field of research to contribute to an anthology
where each chapter describes and analyses a bottom-up study of the
implementation of inclusion polices.
*Objective*
The purpose of this editorial project is to capture the various nuances of
transition from one doctrine to another, showing the commonalities of this
transition for all countries involved, but also discussing the various ways
in which each county has experienced the transitions and adapted to them.
*Target audience*
The book will primarily be aimed at students (both graduate and
undergraduate) of social work, political science, sociology and
anthropology (in addition to various cross-disciplinary studies). We also
believe that the book will be of interest to practitioners of social work,
employment assistants and other street-level bureaucrats in post- socialist
countries. In addition, the book will be highly relevant for consultants
and NGO-workers across Europe. In other words, the book will be of interest
for students, practitioners and policy makers.
*Submission procedure*
Proposals should not exceed 300 words. If accepted, the author (s) will be
invited to submit an extended abstract of approximately 1000 words.
Submitted abstracts must be written in English and contain authors’
names, affiliation
and e-mail address.
The correspondence should be submitted to [log in to unmask]
