5th International Communications Students Congress (ICSC), 2017
Communication Matters: Globalisation, Mobility and Integration
Marma Hotel, Maltepe University, Istanbul
23-24 March 2017

Call for papers
Communication has been playing a crucial and central role in the contemporary world which can be characterised as global, mobile and interactive. Today’s individuals cross international borders more than ever both in the online and offline spheres for purposes ranging from leisure to immigration. Likewise, businesses carry out geographically dispersed operations all around the globe with a growing percentage of mobilized workforce. Communication offers a key strength for facilitating and enhancing all these encounters as it provides the means by which orientation, cooperation, collaboration and integration can be achieved and maintained.

The 2017 edition of the International Communications Students Congress (ICSC 2017) will focus on the main theme of “Communication Matters: Globalisation, Mobility and Integration”.

We welcome submissions for individual papers and panel proposals (including up to 4 papers), media practice contributions (audio / video) and posters that should be addressing, but not limited to, the following topics:
· Communication and technology as a driver of globalisation
· Social media and intercultural communication
· International business, fragmented communication and communication tools for collaboration and cooperation
· Effective communication tools for the mobilised workforce
· E-businesses, global trade and innovative communication applications
· Immigration, refugees and communication needs
· Global personal-mass communication on social media and its effects in integrating cultures

Submission of abstracts
Please note that abstracts can be submitted by undergraduate students (BA/BSc) ONLY. Accepted participants will need to send proof of their student status in order to register for the conference.

There is no age limit, as long as you are a registered student (full-time/part-time) at the time of the conference. The submission is also open to students who study communication and media in other faculties and departments other than communication.

Please note that the deadline for the submission of abstracts is Friday 20 January 2017.

Accepted abstracts will be announced by Monday 6 February 2017, and on the same day the conference website will be open for online registration. Online registration will be open until Friday 3 March 2017.
