The Deadline for the Angela Carter Call for Moving Images is tomorrow!!
DEADLINE: 1 December 2016
We are inviting filmmakers to create up to 90-second film or moving image works inspired by any aspect of Angela Carter’s life or work which will be shown during the Get Angela Carter festival in Bristol.
2017 marks 25 years since the death of Angela Carter, one of the greatest and most original writers of the twentieth century. In response to her extraordinarily visual imagination, we are holding an Angela Carter Festival in Bristol, including performances, films and an art exhibition at the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol called Strange Worlds: The Vision of Angela Carter from 10 December to 19 March 2017, including the work of artists who inspired her and also the work of contemporary artists whose artwork parallels her writing, including some newly commissioned work.
Moving image submissions will be screened as part of the "Get Angela Carter Festival" at the two-day International Fireworks: The Visual Imagination of Angela Carter Conference at the RWA and the Arnolfini, 9-10 January 2017. The keynote is Christopher Frayling and speakers include some of the world’s leading experts on Angela Carter from around the world, including Australia, USA, Japan and Europe.
