yes, the new, and future, releases of eddy is either OpenMP or CUDA. But the OpenMP one doesn’t need any special hardware, it simply uses more than one thread. Or more than one CPU on a multi-cpu machine. If you want to restrict eddy_openmp to use only one thread you simply do
export OMP_NUM_THREADS=1
before launching eddy_openmp.
