Fat Activism: A Public Conversation – part of DaDaFest 2016
Saturday 19th November, 2016, 11am-2pm, The Unity Theatre
You are invited to a duo of public conversations centred on fat activism and disability activism organised by Dr Bethan Evans, University of Liverpool, in collaboration with DaDaFest. The first ‘Fat and Crip Power! A Public Conversation’ with disability activist Liz Carr and fat activist Charlotte Cooper will explore the overlaps, shared experiences and differences between fat and disability. The second ‘Flying while Fat/Disabled’ with Stacy Bias and Bethan Evans includes the launch of a new animation on flying while fat (by Stacy Bias) based on research part-funded by the University of Liverpool, and discussion of this research. This event is free. This is a public event and we encourage anyone to come along who is interested in finding out more about fat activism or who wants to listen or share their stories and get involved in the conversation. More information and booking is available via this link: http://www.dadafest.co.uk/the-festival/event/fat-activism-a-public-conversation/
You can also see the Flying While Fat animation at The Bluecoat and The Tate throughout DaDaFest 2016 festival, find out more here: www.dadafest.co.uk/the-festival/event/flying-while-fat-animation-by-stacy-bias
