Dear experts,
I've gotten the review of a paper of mine, where one of the reviewers criticizes lots of the assumptions of the methods we've used, despite being super-standard ones in SPM. (the other, instead is super-positive).
One of the things he says is that he wants a better definition of what a contrast image is (we're doing a second level analysis in the paper). My PI told me to "shut him up using exact words from one of the big SPM references", like the human brain function books.
So, can you suggest me a unique, clear definition? Is there a reference I can use for it? (I know it's weird to need a reference to define a difference between two images... But we have never been asked for a definition of "contrast images" before...)
Thank you,
Luca
