Hi there,
I'm new to this forum and work in Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire (near Reading), UK, in independent practice as a Consultant Occupational Physician. I'm looking forward to being part of this community.
The four criteria can be found in the Health and Work handbook, see pages 20/21, http://www.fom.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/hw.pdf
Further guidance on approach and adjustments to consider for employees in this situation, is in para 6.33 of the Ethics Guidance for Occupational Health Practice, published by the FOM.
In practice, and to meet my duty of care, I also assess suicide risk to inform my judgement and opinion about fitness.
I hope that helps.
best wishes
Eva
