Fifty years ago a slag-heap collapsed onto the town of Aberfan (Wales,
UK); 28 adults died, as did 116 children, most of whom were at school.
This article refers to a Cantata written for this anniversary and is
essentially in memory for the children of Aberfan but also for children
who may have died in other disasters:

Long-term causes of vulnerability, only rarely natural, when followed by
disasters are, in their longer-term, often exposed as having been caused
by human-kind - as this one at Aberfan assuredly was.
