Postdoctoral position in chemical kinetics at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Effective immediately, there is an open postdoctoral position in the School of Engineering at Brown University. The research is to understand the kinetic behavior of fuels used in undersea propulsion. Two key scientific goals are the coupling between liquid- and gas-phase kinetics, and real-gas effects for non-air-aspirated engines. The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, chemistry, applied physics or equivalent; proficiency with scientific computing in Python; familiarity with electronic structure methods (both DFT and wavefunction); and strong communication skills. Additionally, only U.S. Citizens are eligible for this position.
