The UCD Humanities Institute promotes the international visibility and distinctiveness of interdisciplinary research in the humanities by acting as a laboratory for the study of culture and the human experience. It complements research undertaken within related UCD Schools and research institutes while concurrently providing a space for the delivery of interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary research. The Humanities Institute acts as a driving force for knowledge creation and transfer within UCD and in the context of the humanities in Ireland and Europe.
The Institute hosts a vibrant community of PhD students and Postdoctoral fellows who represent a wide range of subject areas, including Visual and Art History; Memory Studies; Environment and Global Histories; Gender, Sexuality and Culture, Transcultural Studies, Digital and Media Studies, English and Anglo-Irish Studies, Drama Studies, Digital Humanities, amongst others. We invite expressions of interest from potential post-doctoral researchers who intend to apply for the 2017 Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme (GOIPD). We will consider applications from candidates in any area of the humanities. Mentoring will be provided by academic staff in the College of Arts and Celtic Studies and by the Director of the UCD Humanities Institute.
