Another interesting review of the book in the current LRB by Peter Howarth which also discusses Forrest-Thomson's poems. He strikes me as one of those rare critics who refuses to be boxed in by factionalism and who, to put it blandly, actually likes - and hears - poems.

I remember struggling a bit with some of it but being very pleased to find it matching my own ideas about 'naturalisation', even though the book was written years before I started to get a proper handle on such stuff. The review is a good one and positive. It concentrates on what is probably her most important (and controversial) concept, to do with the difference between what she calls internal and external limitation in poetry, something that remains vital for anyone interested in the differences between mainstream and other poetries etc.
