In brief David
Bob Dylan An iconic figure
Dylan has not ever declared his position on any issue
Dylan is anti war but so is every human being on the planet
Dylan is a master at creating a persona that makes him elusive to a unique degree
Dylan rarely gives honest interviews apart from the Folkways magazine interview four decades ago
Dylan tours almost non stop yet pays his fans scant attention with little dialogue
Dylan's music is repackaged on a scale only matched by Elvis Presley The Rolling Stones and The Beatles
Dylan's autobiography drew very little critical reviews of aspects of Dylan's life and times he did not address
Dylan's political views are a puzzle despite political subject matter in his lyrics as noted on here
Dylan's most recent new material album saw songs about a 1912 liner sinking and a lament for John Lennon. Other subjects covered mostly revolved around love and loss
Dylan has ignored many key 21th century events that have included two American wars plus attacks on the American mainland
My case against Dylan is not sour grapes or envy but applying reasonable standards to look again at who is Bob Dylan?
Cheers

Sean, I have tried to wade through your posts but find them impossible to make sense of. You seem to be saying Dylan is a hypocrite. Is this what you are saying? If so list in point order why you think this. Then write a short paragraph on why you think this is a bad thing for an artist. Then write a paragraph on why you think it matters to art. If you do this, concisely and with a measure of coherence, it will form a starting point to a serious debate, rather than a series of impressionist rambles.
