I think the award is good. The committee do an impossible job quite reasonably well. (though the African and Far Eastern literatures are still grossly under-represented .... and while gender parity is improving it has not yet been achieved, not even in the last decade ...)
But Bob Dylan's transformation of the possibilities of song-lyric was unique and unparalleled, world-changingly popular, and still seems miraculous fifty years on. So yeah, Visions of Johanna, why not?
