A reminder that the British Records Association is offering a free
opportunity to hear Dr Caroline Shenton giving the annual Bond lecture
"Beyond the Portcullis: Pleasures, Challenges and Frustrations of
writing stories from the Parliamentary Archives". Caroline's first
popular history book recounted hour by hour "The Day that Parliament
Burned Down" in 1834 and the sequel "Mr Barry's War" about the
subsequent rebuilding just published by OUP will be available at a
discounted price.
