Of course these spaces without road markings and kerbs are already out of
date as driverless cars can't find their way around the spaces and will
run over all pedestrians! The development of these cars are receiving
heavy investment from government and industry. Shared space as cutting
edge? I don't think so!
Poynton in particular has heavy traffic flows at the approach to the
roundabout with many trucks and lorries who can't always see people on
their left and right or ahead of them and blind people cannot feel safe
without a controlled crossing and cannot judge when it is safe.
