Dear Colleagues,
Does anyone use student workers to operate their library services, particularly outside of core hours?
Are the students left on their own i.e. without any library staff supervision?
Are they paid or volunteers?
Are they trained in any counter services?
Are they trained in any other library services?
Does anyone have any comments as to the benefits or otherwise of having student lone workers
"keep an eye on" the library outside of core hours?
Is there anything legally (or morally) against students taking over the work of formerly paid
professionals or formerly paid support staff?
