Which version of Starlink/GAIA are you using? Do the co-ordinates
displayed in the main GAIA panel as you move the cursor look correct?
DS9 like GAIA uses the AST library for co-ordinate handling
so a difference between GAIA and DS9 seems odd.
Have you tried turning the data into two dimensions, losing the
degenerate third axis?
% convert
% kappa
% ndfcopy <imcombined file> test2d trim trimwcs
% gaia test2d
The convert command sets up the on-the-fly conversion from FITS to NDF.
You can also output as FITS by giving the output file a suitable file
extension like ".fit".
If that doesn't work, please could you provide the IMCOMBINEd image
offline for investigation?
